Not sure if I have Malware or a virus Windows 7

Basically something really weird has been happening with windows 7 recently.

Whenever I try to launch a few programs mainly old games offline they don't work and just hang in the task manager with a low memory usage. I scanned my pc thoroughly, reinstalled windows and nothing. It only seems to be happening with old games such as wc3 and hitman 2 but when I plug my internet in they load with no issue at all. However modern games such as Rocket League work fine even with the internet disconnected. But they shouldn't need an internet connection to launch in the first place.

Was wondering if anyone here couple help me with this issue because I am a bit worried now and I don't want to install other stuff in case it's malware or virus. This started last week and is still going on so I'm not sure what is wrong with my pc.

Scan your computer with Superantispyware- SUPERAntiSpyware - SUPERAntiSpyware Portable Scanner

Try to set your old programs to run under compatible mode. Right click on the shortcut - Properties - Compatibility tab. Choose win mode.

Cheers I'll check out that thing. Thing is though up until a week ago they were running just fine I didn't have to mess with compatibility stuff at all. Also like I said these are games that can be played offline but when I plug my internet in they work fine. When I'm disconnected they don't work at all.

Tried compatibility mode and nothing. Getting a bit worried now. That spyware thing removed some cookies but it's still the same thing. The games only work when connected to the internet.
