    Microsoft Security Essentials new update?

Last Sept. 28, 2016, MSE came out with a new Definition Update, version, v 4.10.205 (KB3193414, 119 MB). I didn't d/l & install it because I thought I'd wait until I knew more about the advisability of installing it. But I see MSE is still updating the current version in WU: KB2310138 (Def. 1.239.etc ). Does anyone have any further info on the new MSE Update, because I can't find any info on it? What I'm basically asking is the new update reliable & easy to install?

MSE is constantly adding Definition Updates.
I use MSE on two computers and I update MSE definition several times a day.
No anti virus program can do it's job if one doesn't keep it updated.

My last definition update is 1.239.1096.0

If you have doubts about your install, just remove MSE and install it again from here and then update the definition.

Download Microsoft Security Essentials from Official Microsoft Download Center

If later on their is a newer version, Windows 7 Updates will let you know.

What is the world is a
    Browser STI
    Never heard of it.

What other security programs do you use??

    Thanks for your reply.

Layback Bear (Jack?): STI is Sierra Tel Internet, an internet (satellite) provider in Central California.

I already use MSE & have updated it w/o any problems. Last def. update is also 1.239.1096.0. I'm merely curious why there doesn't seem to be any details/info about the supposed Sept. 28, 2016 Definition Update of KB3193414 since it came out--unless I've missed it. I'll keep searching...

KB3193414 was broken a long time ago.
    My systems don't have it.

    Some reading.

STI is not a Browser it is a Internet Service Provider. (I.S.P.)

Firefox, Internet Explorer and Chrome are browsers.

That is why I was confused.

Thanks, Layback Bear. You have clarified the issue for me, & my MSE is up to date. BTW, my browser is IE11--sorry for the confusion. Thank you again.
