microsoft.visualstudio.ole.interop.dll is being tagged as a PUP by AV

Hello. Today my Panda AV gave me a notification that I was "Infected" and microsoft.visualstudio.ole.interop.dll had been identified as a PUP and I needed to restart my PC to neutralize it.

From what I know, it is not a PUP. How should I proceed?

    Hi,
Not sure I know anything about visual studio and what all it does but you might try asking on panda's website for assistance
You can also run adwcleaner to see what it comes up with too for good measure :/

I have much the same of the C++ stuff but I don't seem to have either of the two Microsoft Visual Studio Tools you have listed.

It is most definitely NOT a PUP (unless the file has become compromised by malware). It's part of the Visual studio SDK, and is also used by the x86 and x64 debuggers.

Panda is flagging it for some unknown reason and it is a false positive. I would contact Panda and let them know, and request a workaround. If they can't or won't do anything about it, then I would switch my AV to something else. I stopped using Norton 360 for similar foolishness. (It would quarantine any new file that I compiled and would not run the newly compiled file. Development was impossible.)

    Thanks for the help.

I have tried to contact Panda multiple times now and have yet to receive any response. I'll probably be switching my AV.
