Laptop goes to sleep every 10 mins when running a scan.

When doing a full scan, my laptop has suddenly started going to sleep every ten minutes. I have not made any changes to the sleep settings that would cause this. In fact sleep settings are as the screenshot below. I've tried to change the settings to 'never' but it still goes to sleep (or the screen goes blank) after ten minutes which pauses the scan.

A full scan would normally take a couple of hours. Yesterday, it took eight hours to complete with me every ten minutes, nudging the mouse to make it stay awake.

As I say, I've tried to alter settings but nothing is working. Are there any hidden settings which I may not know about which could be causing this - or maybe some other explanation.

    1. Change "Put the computer to sleep" to "Never".

    2. Click on "Change advanced power settings". Scroll through there and adjust all items which deal with the computer sleeping.

If it won't let you do these things, then you are probably logged into Windows with insufficient rights.

Thank you. I'll make the changes at the weekend and see how it goes.

Make sure you set it to "Never" both for "On battery" and for "Plugged in".
