Problem with the free version of ZoneAlarm Security ( AV + Firewall)

    Hello all,

Running the free version of ZoneAlarm Security ( AV + Firewall) on Win7. For few days I am getting a message telling that the antivirus is not properly set with a red button "your computer at risk!". I update the AV few times but it is not helping to solve the problem.

B.T.W. this program is installed on my computer for more than two years without problems.

Any help and advice to solve this problem will be highly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Ann

It might be worth uninstalling it & then downloading the latest version from their website & installing the latest fresh version.

Sometimes software programs can become corrupted & needs to be reinstalled.

Before you uninstall it check to see ZoneAlarm have an uninstall utility as AV programs can be hard to remove & remaining scraps can cause problems with a fresh install.

    Hello Ranger4

Thanks for the advice. I am going to uninstall it and install Panda AV in place of it.

    Regards,

Thanks for getting back. Check with the ZoneAlarm website to see if they have an uninstall utility. It is very important that complete removal of AV programs is done, as remnants can cause problems with a new AV.

Tried to uninstall it using ZA removal utility which I downloaded from their website. This utility caused extra problems (too long time to shut the computer down, problem with connecting to the internet etc..). I will try to uninstall it using the uninstall windows utility!

Thanks for trying to help solving the problem.

Sorry for all that trouble, as the uninstall utilities usually work well. Hopefully using the usual Windows uninstall will work satisfactorily.
