    Hi Lifetolive,

logs can be found following these instructions

    1. Click Start (the ORB), then enter Run.
    2. Type the following command: %systemroot%\debug. Click OK.
      1. Note: %systemroot% is the path and the folder name where the Windows system files are located. Typically, this is C:\Windows, although you can designate a different drive or folder when you install Windows.

    3. Double click the file named >> msert <<. Notepad will open.
    4. In the new Notepad window, scroll until you find the error(s). They will usually start with 0x.

    Hi

    Silly question time

How long did the program run for, not used itmyself but would expect a minimum of 5 minutes.
Anything less then i suspect it did not complete, so no log would be produced.

There are other detection tools avalable, have you tried Malwarebytes free??

Around 10 hours, I have 1 tera hdd, No error, works ok. But no log, no debug folder, no nothing, just show me what kind of virus, and announce that it removed those viruses. I don`t need other tool, I just want to know what was infected, wich files.

    Hi

    WOW thats really long.

If we cant find it using this method, then i've no idea where its hiding

From control panel >> folder view >> check show hidden files

    Now
from computer >> select your windows drive.
have a look in these 3 folders
    Appdata
    programs
    programs (x86)

    any trace of the tool.

Do you know how msert works ? Its useless to look in programs, because is not an install app, its just a tool ... So your points, doesn`t help me, I try this things already

    Hi Life2Live,

Microsoft Safety Scanner is a limited time scanner. If it was downloaded more than 10 day ago you will need to delete the copy you have and download a fresh copy. Not sure if this why the C:\Windows\Debug folder is missing or not. If not, the tool did not download properly.

    See the tutorial found here.

Why you would not want to run a subsequent scan with malwarebytes as torchwood suggested is beyond me. The Microsoft Safety Scanner was created for emergency situations only. I have only used this tool as a last resort to "isolate" your problem so your computer may be accessible to run tools such as FRST and malwarebytes that are more reliable and scan deeper into the file system. It doesn't offer permanent solutions to your problem.
