Applying these patches worries me due to some Internet information stating that they could trash your system.

    KB4056894 and KB4056897

I did for Meltdown and now I wish I had not. No problems - yet! But I would not touch Spectre or Bios updates at all at this point. No freaking way! I mean - just look at the MESS created for Meltdown. Aptly named - I must say. Heh.

So I assume that no one have installed the patches for these two Intel flaws.

Hello McSeven, SevenForums members, both Intel and AMD users, are talking about their reaction and response to the recent Intel security vulnerabilities , only not in the System Security Forum .
Instead much has been discussed in the past three weeks, primarily over in the News Forum :). So, Id say your assumption is unfounded rather than completely untrue - if that piece of info is of any help to you.

In the first week of the news outbreak, Intel had only released firmware patches for processors made in the previous five years. Intel promised the rest of us that their other processors (5 yr+) would receive firmware patch releases by the end of January - And since February starts in 3 days, they do not have a great deal of time left.

I installed the appropriate patches on my AMD system.
The only issues I have discovered are
    1. DVDFlick's ffmpeg.exe video transcoding speed has fallen approximately 4-8%, depending on the video file, and
    2. Daily BOINC client contributions for IBM's World Community Grid distributed computing initiative have fallen approximately 9%.

Installed it on my Sisters machine running 7 and on my machine running 10. No problems for either. Sister says she thinks her desktop is a "little" slower, and I have not noticed anything different about mine. Still boots in 15 seconds, no slowdown for video either. Games just as good too, haven't benchmarked but still getting 60fps and more with The Witcher 3 at least.
