MS Forefront Client Security - MSE must have this also

    Hi all
There is a REALLY good facilty on MS Forefront Client Security called Software explorer.

I hope this will be "ported" to MSE later -- it seems such an OBVIOUS feature to have yet this is the first time I've seen it employed in such an easy manner that I'm sure even my late (god bless her soul) grandma would have had absolutely no difficulty in using.

It shows what's running, what start up programs have been launched - which you can remove or disable etc etc.

Really nice feature -- this info is of course available in Windows but not in this easy type of form which even a dummy like me can operate.

(Another post - You can install MS Forefront Client Security on a Stand alone non server machine - I've posted elsewhere on how to do it - also it's free on technet or 120 days trial for joe public).

Anyway here's screen shots of the Software explorer app.

Excellent stuff by MS -- looks like they FINALLY mean business with this. Runs really fast - you don't even notice its running and MS sometimes update the DB as much as 3 times a day

Beat that bloatware companies like McAfee, or Symantec who seem to have a lot of the corporate market sewn up at the moment where users have to suffer 15 - 30 min slowdowns on their workstations whilst these lumbering Dinosaurs go about protecting your workstations against LAST MONTHS infections.

    Cheers

Windows Defender has that feature on Vista.

On Windows 7 it was removed, I guess MS is moving in the opposite direction.

    Hi there
Windows defender is being "deprecated" in favour of MSE - if you have MSE then Windows defender automatically gets disabled.
