Is it safe to purchase online if in Selective mode?

Hi! Lately, in MSCONFIG, (I have windows 7) I am not able to get online without coming on in Selective mode. This is because when I uncheck "safe mode" - it automatically reverts to Safe mode. How do I fix this, and more importantly, does this affect computer security? Is it now less safe to make purchases online?
    Thanks!

I don't think there is a fundamental security difference between safe and normal modes, even the absence of many programs could make your system more secure (less chances for an exploit).
Security of online purchases won't be affected that much, but note that they're inherently insecure to begin with. Having a clean system can help with that.

Hi Debby, in MSCONFIG, Boot Tab, uncheck Safe Boot tick box.

Thanks so much for explaining, Alejandro 85! So now I know I don't have to be afraid to make purchases online! And also, thanks iko22, but I already tried that!
