Removing MSRT
I have MBAM, ADWCleaner, MB Anti-Rootkit. How to I remove MSRT so it doesn't keep noodging me with updates? I understand it will reinstall if not removed properly.

Hi RoWin7,
The MSRT [Malicious Software Removal Tool KB890830] is a Windows malware-protection tool that updates and runs once a month and removes any threats it finds without the need for user confirmation [UAC]. Its main objective is to remove piracy tools that might be potentially malicious and the latest known malware.
That said, the MSRT runs when WU's [Windows Updates] is run on Patch Tuesday [every month], or whenever you run WU's. It is a stand-alone tool and resides in C:\Windows\System32, so as far as I know, you can delete the MRT.exe from there.
You will then need to change the way you receive the WU's. Set it to either Check for updates but let me choose whether to install them, or Never check for updates [not recommended]. This way you can choose which updates you want to install [remembering to never check the MSRT update when it appears]!
Have a look here => Rolling back and removing the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool update for further information and advice.
I hope this helps!
I run my antimalware programs more often than monthly. And I'm already set on "Check for updates but let me choose whether to install them."
I guess it hasn't been running, because Removal Tools in Task Scheduler is blank. thanks.
