Windows 7 Locked out of OS w/ Bitlocker Encryption

Hello Everyone,

I have an issue that started with a rush to encrypt my Windows 7 - HP Pavilion g6 Notebook with Bitlocker.

I started and completed the encryption process on my C drive.

Upon re-starting my computer, I was taken to the HP Recovery Manager page and unable to access my desktop. At this point, I'm unable to access any of my files and I don't know how to process or fix this.

Things I've done to try to fix:

-After research, I've successfully unlocked and disabled Bitlocker with my recovery key and password through the manage-bde commands.

-I've done a system checkup, and it appears there's an issue with the Hard Disk Short DST - failure.
-I've run a CHKDSK scan, and there are alot of files corrupt, but I have no details on what's wrong.

Can anyone give me advice on what I should do next to try and get my computer working back to normal? It seems that Bitlocker has locked me out of the OS system, and I haven't found any good info about my issue except for this place, SevenForums.

Thanks!!

Is you primary problem fixing the corrupt files or something else? If it's the files, have you run the system file checker?

Yes, I've run system file checker and I get a huge stream of "file is corrupt". I'm wondering if there is any way to fix corrupt files so I can access my desktop again.

Unfortunately I only have access to HP Recovery Manager now with options to System Restore, Factory Restore and Minimized Image Recovery. I also don't have a backup which makes this situation extra worse.

Is there anything through CMD that I can enter to fix or get more information aside from System File Checker? It doesn't seem to be very helpful bc as soon it as finishes, the window disappears.

Did you use SFC /scannow? It should automatically fix corrupt files (those it can). One should reboot and run it again if finds and fixes files.

Also, did you use chkdsk /r when you ran it?

If you can back up your personal files to another device, I would think that the Factory Restore would be the best option since (I guess) system restore would roll the bitlocker back to where it was. Of course, you would need to install all the updates issued since you got your system.

Have you asked about this at the bitlocker forum?
