Put IDP.GENERIC - FLASHPLAYERINSTALLER.EXE in Virus Chest - Can't Rest
A couple of days ago, my Avast (free) anti virus put up an alert about IDP.GENERIC - FLASHPLAYERINSTALLER.EXE may saying it may be infected and to put it in the virus chest.
Some research has suggested that this is a false positive. Is this true? I tried restoring the F/Player EXE, but Avast would neither allow me to restore it or restore and add exception. Today, my PC did some Windows updates. At the end, a pop up appeared from Acer, the manufacturer of my pc, telling me to install the latest version of Flash Player. This is the first time in several years of owning this pc that I have ever seen this pop up. Has it appeared because the F/Player exe is in the Virus Chest and would normally have allowed the latest F/Player version to install automatically. How should I rectify this situation? I am grateful for any advice, and please note that I don't know a lot about PCs. |

I can only detect it when I feel the slowness. And then I sort by CPU utilization in the task manager. One of the processes take 50%. It's really... |

Hamster Needs a Rest So I have a customer that claims she had a random pop up on her computer. It was a picture of a hamster running in a wheel, and says "Your Hamster Needs a Rest". Anyone have any ideas if this is a virus, or a game, or something random? Thanks! |
