    MBAM detections?

    Hi,

    MBAM detected these 2......

    Registry Value: 2

    PUM.Optional.DisableMRT, HKLM\SOFTWARE\POLICIES\MICROSOFT\MRT|DONTOFFERTHROUGHWUAU

    PUM.Optional.DisableMRT, HKLM\SOFTWARE\POLICIES\MICROSOFT\MRT|DONTREPORTINFECTIONINFORMATION

Should they be deleted (If yes how) or quarantined?

    Thanks.

    Hi alexey,

those both relate to the monthly MS Malacious sorftware removal tool. KB890830 and telematry from it
They are known registry tweaks, So at some stage you have either created them manually or have used a tweak program to install them.

They are NOT malware, its up to you how you would like Malwarebytes to treat them.
If you did insert those entries, all you need do is untick them in the Threat scan report once the scan has completed, it should then give you the option to ignore.
    see this

    PUM.Optional - Malwarebytes Labs | Malwarebytes Labs | Detections

if you dont select that update to run those entries become irrellevent and can be removed

    Thanks Roy,

I did not create them, do I need to delete these reg entries manually for not to appear on a rescan or MBAM would delete them?

Roy, after manually uninstalling the reg entries, do I require to uninstall the KB890830 and updates related to telematry?

    Thanks again!

    Hi Alex,

This is 1 of a couple of updates that MS are still offering to W7 users.
It checks for known infections on MS's database.
You DO NOT need to uninstall PREVIOUS versions.

As MS are only issuing MSE security updates and this to the general public, if you have a 3rd party AV you might as well turn OFF windows updates.
