    Norton

I've just received an email from my ISP that they are switching from McAfee to Norton. I've always got on well with McAfee so am nervous about the switch to Norton. Is it a good AV? There are some people on the ISP forum reporting problems with the installation which doesn't inspire confidence. I was wondering if now would be a good time to switch to my own AV rather than go through the ISP? And if that is the case, which do I go for?

    Any thoughts would be welcome.

    Thank you.

[QUOTE=SIW2;3509416]A lot of people use mse on win7.

Oh, according to this link, MSE is no longer available to download.

    What is Microsoft Security Essentials?

I've been looking at BitDefender, they have a 30 day free trial period. Anyone have BD, any good?

Your link is incorrect. Did you try the link SIW2 gave you?

Thank you, that seems to give the option to download. I spent a couple of hours looking at various options. I'm going to give Norton a try and see how it goes, it is free for the first few months, so if it doesn't suit my laptop I'll have another think.

They’re both good but as another user mentioned, Microsoft security essentials is also good.
