I use Windows Defender, better than nothing, for real time. SpybotS&D for weekly scans, very nice.

I also use Avira for AV, seems to be fine on Win7. I have a hardware router that controls incoming connections but also use Windows Firewall so I have some control over outbound connections too.

I have periods where I use no software based solutions too, just hardware firewall, as I use common sense when it comes to downloads and sites I visit.

I know plenty of people that use no system protection, but they fall into 2 very distinct categories, either more advanced users such as ourselves, who tend to be able to survive in this environment using experience, intelligence and common sense, and total n00bs who know no better and seem to enjoy paying me to sort their problems and set up security. Slightly frustrating as many of them switch it all back off again and then get infected once more.

Initially ESET AntiVirus in 32 Bit, then ESET Smart Security in both 32 and 64 Bit. I've now managed to get the Win 7 64Bit Beta running very smoothly, so have settled on ESET Smart Security 64 Bit.

I don't use MS Defender or the MS Firewall

    Windows 7 and Firewalls

There has been minimal discussion of the sw firewalls, I use them interactively, so I know what is calling home. A non v4 ESET blew me out of the water on 7. I am using Kaspersky. Any other working interactive firewalls (that will ask me before allowing a new outgoing connection). Also does the windows 7 firewall work interactively on outgoing. Thanks

Avira Premium Security Suite, Spyware Guard and Spyware Blaster. All work great!

Great to hear that the anti-virus programs reported are still working well with no bugs.
Anyone find a different AV that will work with W7?

Also as a side note, supposedly W7 build 7032 is floating around with some newly added features. Anyone able to find this build 7032 available for download?

Just getting around to installing the Antivirus on my Windows 7 x64.

What are we all using - Avast?
I am using NOD32 64bit and Counterspy, but I have to disable active protection on Counterspy, because they both go to the Kernal level of the Operating Syatem. And they will fight like nobodys business. An hour to boot and other issues.
