I ditched my Antivirus on the 8th of November 2006 and stopped using software firewalls back in 2004 and I have never regretted it once since

Still not one infection and If I cared about outbound protection I wouldn't have the computer connected to the Internet

I always win at playing "Spot the Virus"
How do you know if you are not infected if you do not have an anti-virus to check that for you ?

most of them are dead giveaways (through process explorer....)

or if they are repacked files (always use universal extractor for this....)

the others that cannot be solved by using a simple command such as sfc /scannow are not worth your trouble as the most of those are rookits anyways....
(im not saying not to use av its just my opinion as i have on avast for the av and drive-by downloads protection)
if you are carefull enough (and check for packed files that might be trojans inside the download )you should be actually thwart about 99% of attacks the others are zero day and nothing in the world would be able to stop them...

Hmmm - weird that SAV CE 10 works and SEP 11 doesn't....

I'll have to see if the tech boys can send me an older client and have it mesh with the SEP Management server...

NOD32 AV 4 Beta working just fine here :)
I tried all the suggested by Microsoft and did not like any of them. Found NOD32 4.0 Beta and am very happy with it. Runs very well on Windows 7.
    It's free until March sometime.

Symantec Enpoint Protection 11.0.4 will install on 7, but still unstable. Causes my computer to blue screen\restart every hour or so... Still troubleshooting though.

Someone in earlier thread said Symantec Antivirus 10 worked?? I couldn't get it installed...

Tried Bit Defender 09 64bit and it worked for about a week. Then it stopped updating and through investigation on other forums its not a one off problem. I installed a Vanilla 7 and tired again but right away it failed to update. So I am guessing that one of the latest updates from MS has messed with the update.

I have installed Bit Defender 08 and all is well. Updates well. (For $hits and giggles I downloaded some known virus/malware files from some unscrupulous sites and BD 08 snagged them instantly.
