Resource and performance manager not recognising avast

    Hi,

I am using avast anti-virus and all seems well in the desktop, there is no warning in the action centre to get anti-virus software, but when I run a system diagnostic report in Performance monitor it says

"The Security centre has not recorded an antivirus product"

It then says if there is one running to stop the security centre from monitoring antivirus status. Thats fine, but why do i get a different status. Avast is def working ok too.

    Hi Alho,

This issue was covered before, basically Avast have not created all the required WMI properties (root\SecurityCenter\AntiVirusProduct) used by the Security Center/diagnostic report, I did create a tool capable of adding the missing entries but Microsoft deprecated the AntiVirusProduct class Security Center used (No AV installed for Vista (perfmon.exe bug!) - Vista Forums)

You'll have to ask Avast to provide instructions on re-registering their product with the Security Center for showing with diagnostics reports unfortunately.

Cheers dmex, at least I know I am not alone and that the AV is working alright. Will email avast, you never know they might sort it out.
