VIPRE 4.0 Consumer Beta 1 Release Announcement

We are very pleased to announce the Beta 1 release of VIPRE 4.0 Consumer. There are three products available for testing:

• VIPRE Premium with Firewall
• VIPRE Antivirus + Antispyware
• CounterSpy

There are a number of features added in the Firewall version:

• Basic Firewall protection
• Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
• Boot-time firewall protection
• Web Filtering of specific content
• Bad website blocking

The link you posted just brings me to a login page.

Not sure I'm a fan of them now bringing this out after I just purchased the other Vipre not too long ago. Now my license wont work for this because of the other features added.

Hi, your existing license wont work. Its just a 15 day trial version no matter you enter the key or not. You need to sign in in order to login to the page. I downloaded the premium version to test the firewall...

Yeah, I know, that is the point I was making though. I just shelled out for Vipre licenses for 2 systems and then they come out with this new version with firewall, etc. A little annoying.

I guess the upgrade will be free.

Nope. Already checked. What I purchased was just Vipre Anti Virus. This new one is anti virus and firewall. It would only be free if you already own a license to their firewall as well. Oh well, such is life I guess. Just would have been nice to know about this and have the option to purchase this instead at the time.

I'd suggest you to chat with a live person at Vipre and scare them that you need a good deal or else you'll switch to another product. I m sure they will come up with some offers. It worked for me.

Yeah, I might do that. I'm using Avast 5 Beta right now and I really like it.
