    Selective patch

I currently use Norton 360 for all security needs. However, even with Windows' security options off, I still frequently am bothered by notices to download patches that turn out to be Defender updates. I have the updates set to let me know before installing since I've had bad experiences before with Windows' rebooting my computer when necessary when done installing patches.

Isn't there a way to 'deselect' Defender and similar downloads for those using 3rd party security?

If not, any other constructive solutions?

    Thanks,

    Mark

If you're not using Windows Defender, then type services.msc in the start search box. Open 'services', scroll down to Windows Defender, right click, choose properties and set it to 'disabled'.
