    Another facebook virus?

Well, Today I logged into facebook. I had one new message in my inbox, so I decided to read it. The message says this:

Noww, you shoulld llook for spy caameras everywheree.
    ***********

Not thinking, I clicked the link.
Firefox came up with a "Reported Attack Site!" warning saying:
This web site at *********************** has been reported as an attack site and has been blocked based on your security preferences.

So whats this? Koobface? Or is it another facebook worm/virus?

Either way. Stay Safe. Use up-to-date firefox with Adblock plus, all security features enabled, a master password (trust me on this) and noscript.

I dont know what would have happened without firefox, and I dont want to find out!

    Stay safe!

I use Opera and don't touch Facebook. Secure here. Use PSI too, some of your apps may be outdated.

I found koobface on Wikipedia and it is a nasty virus..
This is some what wikipedia said..
The message directs the recipients to a third-party website, where they are prompted to download what is purported to be an update of the Adobe Flash player. If they download and execute the file, Koobface is able to infect their system. It can then commandeer the computer's search engine use and direct it to contaminated websites.
Among the components downloaded by Koobface are a DNS filter program that blocks access to well known security websites and a proxy tool that enables the attackers to abuse the infected PC.
    Wow!

Facebook is evil because of the unsafe user content they allow to run, don't even think about going there unless your browser is updated to its back teeth, and you're never going to click any links or join groups etc, blah, blah...

gamepro, did you know the person [who] sent you the message? If you did, you should have asked [what] the link was about. Did you do that?

Now, if you didn't know the person, then why would you click on a random link?

***These are two questions to ask yourself in the future. Don't click on links without verifying [who] and [what] first!

The person who sent me it is a friend in real life.
Another friend got their account hacked saying "If you get a message with a link below dont click it because its a virus they hacked my account"

So yeah ide say its KoobFace. Awful. Good thing 99% of antivirus detect it!
