Kaspersky Internet Security 2010, Firewall ?

    hi !

i´m going to install Kaspersky Internet Security 2010, which component is the Firewall ?

i don´t want to install it since i´m using Comodo´s FW instead,
and i really don´t want KIS to mess up...

I hope you do not think that I am out of line, but I truly just want to help. Look at some of the posts. Kasp. has caused a lot of problems. Many just wind up uninstalling and even that is a problem. Compare it to MSE, free from Microsoft, Microsoft Sec Essentials. Whatever you choose, I wish you the best.

    hi !

yes, i know about previous problems with KIS, but i also know that many are reporting that KIS 2010 works very well.
and it´s also free, since i have a license...

as you can see from my signature, i´ve been using Avira & MSE,
i have installed W7-Enterprise today and want to test KIS.

but, my question is: which component is the firewall ?

If you are already using comodo firewall, go for kaspersky anti virus instead of full suite.

    hi !

thanks for the tip, but i was thinking about using KIS including FW later on.
found out that the FW is called web-antivirus (?!).
problem solved, KIS doesn´t like Comodo, so i´m going for another combination instead.

    KIS

Kaspersky Internet Security actually has a very good firewall I would just use KIS or you could switch and use Comodo Internet Security since you obviously like their firewall

Hi, hackerman1. (Yes, its the same Corrine from TWC ).

You will need to do a custom install if you do not want to remove the Comodo firewall. See Installation / Uninstallation

I take it you are planning on uninstalling MSE and Avira (and hope that you don't have them both active now.)

    hi Corrine !

welcome to sevenforums, nice to see that you too found the best Windows 7-forum.
very nice to have another security-expert & MVP here.

mods: sorry for cross-posting in 2 threads, but someone else might need the info here too...

yes, i know that i can install KIS without firewall, i tried to install, but it wanted to uninstall Comodo´s FW, because it´s KIS A/V-component is non-compatible with Comodo´s FW.
the BIG problem is that KIS is non-compatible with a lot of other A/V´s & FW´s...

can Comodo´s FW really be used together with KIS ?

    "uninstalling MSE and Avira ?"

i installed W7-Enterprise yesterday, so they are not installed....

I was going by your "my security" list.

As to KAV, my contacts at the Kaspersky forums deal with malware so you may need check the KAV forums: Kaspersky Lab Forum or Kaspersky Fan Club Forum.
