I had Symantec destroy my system a few years back when I tried to completely uninstall it. My intentions were to uninstall and reinstall but I changed my mind after it destroyed my OS.

Norton might get good reviews. But the software acts like a virus when one wants to completely uninstall it by the fact that it will destroy your system hands down.

A normal uninstall does not work with a lot of security suites. You have to use their specific uninstallers. For Norton products it is this one: ( Download and run the Norton Removal Tool ). McAfee and some of the others have their own too.
My experience with Norton IS was very good. But now I use MSE which is lighter and does a good job.

These type of tests are just Media hype and Marketing scams.
If you believe this sort of thing you must also believe in the Tooth Fairy and Santa.
Use a different set of inputs and you will get a completely different winner.
This is how A.V. companies sell their products, they show how efficient there program is against others by using inputs that their product can detect.
Well, if you take a look at the tests of AV Comparatives, you will see that they cover a great scope of differente inputs, to give their results - and they don´t belong or are endorsed for any of the A.V. companies, so I take their tests in consideration.

And, anyway, I´m very happy with MSE right now.

I tried NAV 2010 and there was no need for the removal tool. It was a breeze uninstalling . But I'm still sticking to avast! antivirus .
