We will soon be releasing a new program update of avast; and as usual, we're making it available for public testing a few days before the official release.
Edit: now updated to build 6.0.1086.

This is hopefully going to be a smooth service release, designed to fix some of the issues of the original v6.0.1000 build.

Here's the list of the most important changes:

    - attempt to fix new compatibility problems with GameGuard and sXe _rootkits_
    - SafeZone improvements
    - localization updates (including WebRep)
    - improved sandbox logging)
    - SafeZone is now a standalone setup package (can be installed/uninstalled separately)

    New in v6.0.1035:
    - solved Firefox WebRep plugin on non-English Windows
    - solved a few incompatibility problems in BehavShield (e.g. TeraCopy)
    - improvements in password processing
    - improvements in the program uninstaller
    - sandbox improvements
    - fixed various UI issues introduced in the previous pre-release build

    New in v6.0.1044:
    - solved a memory leak in the avast gadget
    - solved a few things in WebRep
    - autosandbox-related fixes
    - WinXP: File System Shield not doing repetitive scans anymore
    - improvements in SafeZone isolation
    - improvements in the avast! sandbox (better TDL shielding etc)
    - localization updates

    And new in v6.0.1086:
    - more fixes in the AutoSandbox processing
    - added Chrome WebRep plugin
    - optimizations in the File System Shield's transient cache
    - various stability/compatibility improvements

It's running great here, and the Chrome WebRep works well too.

I enjoy using avast. However the only problem I have is when you have scan that is set to go off at a specific time, you get a notification that does not go away and tells you how much it has scanned. Any idea how to fix this problem?
    Hi Mitch656 :)

You need to tick Silent/Gaming mode

Seem to be having a problem, when I installed it my system locked up. Got to the finish screen and that was all.
Went to safe mode tried to update it, no good, so un-installed it. Re-boot, Installed again, restart to normal, locked up again. Un-installed again.

Fresh install a couple of weeks ago, first time trying to install Avast. Have MSE installed, have ran both together before with no problems.
In safe mode MSE is turned off so that should have allowed it to install.

Ran updated Malwarebytes, Avast Full scan (from Win7 on HDD), ESET on-line, MSE full scan, last week.
Ran MSE full scan and Avast Full scan (from Win7 on HDD) today. All were ok.

    Any ideas?

    When 5.1 was released there seemed to be a lot of this happening, have a look through this thread;

    MSE Headsup

Even though i use Avast & not MSE i would not necessarily blame MSE

    Thanks for the link.

I have been running Avast and MSE on two systems for a while now with no problems. Have had two threats found in the last year, one by Avast and one by MSE. Which confirmed my initial reason to try both of them at the same time.

Will keep looking for a similar issue and hopefully find a way to resolve this. If not then back to one AV.

If you'd like a 3rd opinion, Install Avira Antivir as a On Demand scanner only. During installation, just don't install the Guard function. Then just manually scan with Avira. Also, if you use Firefox, there is an addon from BitDefender called QuickScan. It does a very quick scan using the cloud. It won't do any removal, but if it alerts to something, you can look into it. It takes less then a minute to run.

I also install Virus Total Uploader. It gives a right click send to choice to upload a file for analysis at Virus total

VirusTotal Uploader description, Antivirus Downloads List By 30 Day Change | PCWorld - PCWorld

VirusTotal - Free Online Virus, Malware and URL Scanner

Very handy to confirm a false positive.

I had the same issue installing MSE 2.0 released version what ever it was with Avast back in Jan. or Feb.
I didn't ever get both to work together.
    Still won't.

Only help I got when I posted a thread is uninstall one of them.
Evidently we are just paranoid wanting to run both.

I see mitchell64 posted a link to my thread.
    Thanks Mitch!
