I noticed i now have the Avast SafeZone Browser in my Avast free version.
I didn't install it, and wasn't notified it would be auto installed silently.
Anyone using Avast free might want to check if this got installed for you.
Others have reported this and post #11 explains why in this Avast forum thread:

Yeah, suddenly an icon on desktop. I turned it back off, but I don't like that behavior. Whether it's in the EULA or not. How many people would know how to turn it back off? A Guy

Yeah I did actually try the browser out, it was ok actually and as for as a flash replacement was involved it would try and load HTML5 first and then flash second... it was faster than FF even the new x64 official version (I think) about the same speed as IE11... though I did not like the idea of it being auto installed so to speak either...
Avast in my opinion is a good anti virus, becoming a bit bloated though I only use the basics of the free version (I used to use the paid for but never used the extras apart from the VPN which indecently is very good)... I feel any free based software they need to try and push their marketing somehow or they would go bankrupt...
I do agree though I would have liked to have the option as to weather or not to install the browser from the get go...

    You're welcome.
I don't like that they auto installed this silently, without asking or notifying me of the program update.

I just found one of my systems with Avast now has the Passwords tool installed.
I don't know when that got installed.
From what i know these program updates are delivered via the Streaming Updates.
I just turned off Streaming Updates and changed the Check for Updates from the default 4 hours to 1 hour.
Guess I'll see how that goes.

Yeah, big whoop. Avast snuck the stupid thing onto my computer, too. When I deleted it, it took all my IE cookies with it. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their hairy parts.
