Nice find, Dinesh. Avast! is my prefered antivirus program for Windows, and I was wondering when they were going to get round to supporting Windows 8.

Thanks Dwarf. The best feature in Avast! is the boot scan. I have cleaned so many infected PCs of clients with boot scan.
For those who do not know, boot scan enables avast to load itself and scan the computer even before windows services and other programs are loaded on the memory. This lets avast to clean the viruses even before they get a chance to execute themselves and hide somewhere.
If Avast Beta has just been introduced a few days back then the final version 7 should be out in another month or so. I would prefer to wait for that although I am running beta versions of 2 or 3 other free programs.
I tend to not use the betas for my AV, and my default browser. Don't want to fool with viruses, and need my browser for work stuff. A Guy
I installed the Internet security(paid) version in trial mode on both my 64 bit windows 7 and windows 8 Developer Preview and it worked perfectly on Win 8 but had all sorts of problems on Win 7 and finally had to uninstall it so as to get windows to work.
Strange thing is that I am running Version 6 on Windows 7 without any problems
After reading all praises for version 7 beta, I installed it. I was fully prepared to revert back to the earlier image with version 6.
There were a few hiccups in the beginning but except for one or two minor hitches, the beta version of Avast has now settled down and I have left it alone. Anyway paraphrasing Shelley, "When the beta comes can the final be far behind".
