I download comodo firewall about 2 yrs ago,; didn't like it so I dumped it. Yesterday I found a trojan and I'm careful where I go, so I tried comodo again and this time they have a real good firewall with a virtual environment to surf in, a sandbox to run any program in and a browser like comodo dragon but based on FF called IceDragon and the whole firewall does not slow surfin, it goes thru their DNS servers...I love it but it doesn't have an on demand AV.

Comodo has an AV but I wonder if they will play well together, the firewall is 144mb and the seperate download of their AV is 144mb also; so I'm wondering avast or cav.

I presume you are asking me Kem, although I am not sure.

Yes Comodo and Avast are running together and both are in Startup.

Avast free and Zone Alarm's free firewall play well together.

I like avast as it has caught everything in the past; the only thing I don't like about it now is that it uses the cloud and sucks my bandwidth while running a scan, I might dump it.

Avast does not scan unless you start it.

    Yes, I know.
    Maybe I'm just being picky.

QUESTION: In order for avast to update automatically does it need to be connected to the cloud ?
