I have had a BSOD. All I have done is to install the Avast update. Their is NO Minidump entry on my pc which is set to do it.
Anyone else suffered this? the only program I was using was Utorrent Portable.

I normally shut down my Desktop pc when I've finished using it, as it was downloading 28gb I left it running. Do you shut down yours when not using it.

In the BSOD section of the forums, it is documented as being a cause of BSOD's on some systems. I suggest following this, and posting there to see if anyone can help:

I knew about this, but didn't use it as NO Minidump was created.

Do you have a pagefile on the C: drive?
I believe a C:\pagefile.sys is needed to capture a dump file.

Gaving never used Avast before I nearly jumped out of my skin a few minutes ago when Avast announced in loud stentorian tones that it had updated itself. I had no idea it had a verbal updater.

That's a bit intrusive. Definitely happy with Eset and there NON-intrusive practices.
