I'm going to wait a bit to see if anyone reports any problems before updating. The last one (1489) would lock up IE10 on my computer.

Script shield update might fix the issue. It could have been something with that combined with the avast plugin.
    I'll test it soon lady.

    EDIT:

So I updated avast and everything seems fine. Upon reboot I was told it updated, and it offered chrome. Unchecked the box and hit OK. I know why they offer it, (as it is more secure) although I do admit I am starting to wonder if the free version is becoming to much advertising. Hopefully they do not keep going in this direction.
If they do I might have to find another AV. But there is no way I'm installing or recommending Microsoft Security Essentials. No protection from that one. I might switch to avira.

Anyways, so far I still like avast and think its the best free product out there. But they do need to cut down on the advertising. But it is no where near as bad as AVG or IOBIT.

    Regardless,
Internet explorer when launching I was informed avast plugin was disabled due to not being compatible with enhanced protected mode for internet explorer 10. I disabled enhanced protected mode and tried it out. No crashes. So all is well there for me.
Puzzled why they have not fixed the protected issue problem. Ether way its not to big of a deal for me. You can also install Wot for IE if you want the safe site rating.
(I use Wot more anyway honestly.)
Or disable protected mode, but I think it would be better to have it on.

You are still protected by avast in internet explorer though, even if the plugin does not work.
It still scans all pages you go to.
The plugin is only just for rating sites and showing you how good they are before you click them.

Does anyone install the betas? I personally don't want a beta for my front line antivirus

The last final version would disable IE10 on both of my computers so I will wait for the final version before upgrading (after making a system image).
