    firewall connectivity problem

    hi guys,

this is my first post and its quite urgent.. i just got a new laptop(packardbell easynote TJ68) it runs windows 7 64-bit

i am trying to run 4 different programs and seem to be having the same problem with all 4.

    cake poker
    windows live messenger
    pokerstars
    itunes

it seems they are being blocked by windows firewall,i have tired to allow all of these programs thru the firewall, and i have tried to allow the ports, but im not great with all the tech stuff, and im just not able to get it working!

the error messages im getting are connectivity errors, the programs download and install just fine but they just wont connect. my IE works just fine.

can anyone help me!? like i mentioned above its urgent, moving countries tomorrow and really want to get this sorted before i go if possible, thanks alot!

my email address is [EMAIL REMOVED] if the info above is too vauge..

    thanks!!

hmm.. let's see if it is caused by Firewall in first place.

    1. Turn off your Windows Firewall
Windows Firewall - Turn On or Off
    2. Try your programs again.
    3. Turn on Firewall
    4. Report back here.

We will try to help you :)

    Hi Danny, Welcome to SF,

I don't believe the Router firewall would block these problem.
You could try to add the exe files to Firewall Exception
This Tutorial should help you Windows Firewall - Add or Remove an Exception

    Help this helps

    What Security Software

What security software came pre-installed on that it may not be the Windows firewall blocking communication.

yeah i have done this before(adding exceptions) but no changes, im still getting the same error messages.

You can boot you computer in Selective Startup
This would basically disable All the unwanted application and only the Windows system services will load.

    Uninstall PC Tools

Try uninstalling PC Tools I have had issues with the latest version of their firewall causing these types of issues it will still block even when turned off or exceptions have been created.
