All my info is already there. usamsa (hope I spelled that right) told me I ought to come over here after he gave me some advice and it didn't work out as planned.

I'm.. considerably more concerned now, especially when my computer crashes so often now that I don't think I've successfully ran a virus scan since Dec. 20th or so, when this whole thing started. I know that back then, all my virus ware found was tracking cookies, all of which I probably assumed were safe and perhaps I was wrong? Though, most of the time, when I went to remove those they required admin approval and said something about changing the hardware but I didn't really pay mind to it (and never went through with removing them). I don't know why I didn't. I currently have AVG, McAffee, and Ad-Aware.

Always First thing to catch eye.

Mcafee and AVG both on real-time?

EDIT: usasma was right SRTSPX is related to Symantec
srtspx.sys Windows process - What is it?
So have you ever in the past or even now have any symantec (norton) products?

    Hello,

Try running Malwarebytes free in Safe Mode.

    Thanks,

You should never run two anti-virus products together... they can clash, and will cause eachother to fail to work properly...

Might I suggest you choose one, uninstall the second... and rely on the excellent online scanners such as this one, or this alternative, for supplementary protection and peace of mind...

    First, I'm a girl.

Second, I never ran them at the same time, and I'd had several on past computers installed at the same time and didn't encounter issues. Shall I uninstall all of three, before I do anything in safe mode?

Third, when I bought this computer I didn't even boot it up to Vista. I automatically gave it to my friend, who took out the Vista completely and put in my 7068 Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate. The Vista may have had stupid Norton freeware, but I specifically told my friend to not have any Norton and I know for a fact he hates it himself, so no, there shouldn't have been any Norton products on this computer before, unless that automatically came with the 7068 and he didn't skip that step or it stays in due to the original Vista.

Of the three, which would you all recommend? I've already decided to remove AVG because of things I've heard, browsing the forums here about my issues. My version of McAffee has always been a bit odd.

Once we get this post out of the way, I'll go ahead and do the malwarebytes in safe mode.

edit: And yes, build 7068. I rambled about that in the first post of the other thread. Not sure if I should upgrade, as I'd been told in the past to wait until March/June or for my computer to prompt me to upgrade. I'm not sure, as of yet, if I'm supposed to go get myself another external and erase everything on here to do a clean install regarding that.

Can you use System Restore to go back to a point prior to 20th December?

Will I lose anything I currently have -- and therefore should back it up beforehand?

Annnd I'm not positive on how to actually go about system restore, I apologize. I can Google some instructions if you like.

    System Restore

You will not lose any files, just settings and the like.
