Lightest Antivirus

The lightest antiivirus that exists is Webroot Secure Anywhere. Fully installed it takes up less than 6MB of diskspace and uses about 98% less memory than other AV's.
There is a comparison sheet on webroot

Are you looking for the lightest AV and disregarding functionality, stability and effectiveness?
I would always suggest MSE to any person who looks for a free anti-virus. Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

If I had a netbook I would be tempted to keep a fresh drive image handy and go commando. Were I to get infected it would be wipe-and-restore time.

I use only MSE.
I install only MSE.
I recommend only MSE.

Excellent protection and non-interfering.

Additionally, the discussion of what's the lightest AV is similar to discussing what's the best AV, it's gonna be a really long discussion. Right now, I see people saying that a particular AV is the lightest, and another person saying that particular AV is the lightest. We can't find out which one really is the lightest in this type of discussion. While we continue the discussion, detail your post and be logical. Good luck!

I guess I'll declare victory with my none-at-all approach, since you can't get lighter than that.

That's what I use on all my home computers and my laptop. Highly recommended for anyone who isn't keen on getting to be adept at using Macrium Restore.

If you're looking for the lightest AV for you mini notebook, i would recommend Webroot SecureAnywhere. It has a low footprint and barely noticeable with a good protection.

I would pick MSE. I've tested many anti-virus programs out there, and MSE has burdened my computer the least every time. It's protection level is quite good as well.
