Both are good. However, they wont work together. I have tried it and it causes issues.
ive been running them together for what like a yearr i havnt had no problemss but i just wondered if there was a point in running avast and nod at the same time
soo i decided to uninstall avast and run nod:)
It's never good to have two resident antivirus programs. You can have them, but only one resident and the other one just for scanning. If you want that I can recommend you A-Squared Free Antivirus, which does not work as resident.

PD: sorry for my English, it's not my language :P
