Virus? rundll32 starting application when pc is idle
Hi, I installed COMODO firewall and have been getting a lot of prompts where rundll32 is trying to start an application. This happens when the pc is left idle.
The applications that rundll32 tries to run are not set to check for updates or schedule to run at any time. Can some tell me if this is normal or could my pc be infected? thnks |

Welcome!
If you are concerned about a possible infection, I strongly encourage you to run Malwarebytes Free. I wouldn't suspect that is a virus, though. What applications are trying to start? |

I did try the Process Explorer. The ones i see there look ok. I an concerned above when it just selects an arbitrary application to start.. I mean I have Rosetta Stone installed, and i just get a popup from comodo saying "rundll32 is trying to execute rosettastone.exe". that seems weird to me. it happens with others at random

Its a APPCRASH Faulting application name: rundll32.exe_aepdu.dll and I think faulting module is ole.dll or ole32.dll not quite sure. |
