Disabled definatley!! i find the UAC to be very irritating!
Enabled. I like the extra security. Although the poll options are slightly confusing so I'm just clicking yes and assuming it means enabled.
here is free program that i use to run UAC in silent mode Download TweakUAC for Windows Vista works with windows 7 too
Thanks Greg for the directions and the heads up on HD Tune, haven't tried running on 7 yet.
One more bit on UAC behavior: can't right click on blank spot of the Task Bar to bring up context menu for split screen - TM and the rest. Never saw complaints on this; anyone else with this particular issue?
Disabled , I am the only one that uses my computers.
My 12 year old daughters computers , disabled.
She is amazing on the PC , I have taught her well !!
Nope, but I do want it to ask if its OK for a program to do something.
Its a line of defense against viruses and whatnot. I don't go around telling people to keep their UAC on or anything, personally its their choice to have that extra line of defense.
As for slowing you down, maybe by half a second? The only time I even 'realize' UAC is being annoying is when I read threads like these. Then they are not annoying a few hours later. My brain is funny like that. :)
Ya, I agree, going around telling people what to do is rude.
Got UAC enable but one notch down from the default setting because i don't want that black faded (all screen windows) pop-up as well as the admin control!
It does helps a lot!:)
