I was OK with that link as well but I'd seen it before coming here, but it's nice to see it's getting around so people can check their machines

No harm done for sure! It's rather humerous as well to some extent when you look at it since most will never even see any Conficker infection to start with. Instead they will likely get winged by some adware or other bug floating around at some point.

I wouldn't be in any rush to buy any! "Conficker Fears spread fake AV products" That falls under the heading of "CyberCrime & Doing Time" CyberCrime & Doing Time: Conficker Fears spread fake AV products

That's just one of many similar reports on the bogus Conficker threat apparently another online scam. Scare everyone into buying bogus softwares and the April fools is on them!

With countless types of viruses, trojans, trojan downloaders, adwares, spybots running a system without any protection is leaving a door wide open for anything not just one hoax.

I caught one article on Conficker late friday I thought where someone at MS was being interviewed and commented on the obvious fake or simple variant of three previous I-Worms with that name.

The thing most don't realize about that type of virus is that you have to initiate it first with a right click to save to drive and then double clicking to see what the file is. Most are just like any other executable and are easy to avoid by simply not saving or trying to open but a simple deletion.

Any time you see any incoming mail by an unknown simply treat it like spam and send it on it's way and you won't have to worry about ... "it got me!" "me no feel too good now..."
