Haven't you the option Bios Setting on F2 or F10 on boot???

It should be 2 seconds just after start (better be fast..) you'll have to press one or the other F2-F10.

Check the Tech Specs of your Toshiba to access Bios Setting.

If it so, you could easily "Clear" the Hdd password:)

You should still have an access...In your Instruction Manual it must be a page explaining how to access the bios setting...and more

My Instruction Manual even tells how to boot on F12 key recovery CD (hidden by default) and other tricks hidden by my manufacturer Acer using F10 key.

Did you tried those F2 or F10 keys on boot?

Looks your bios is an INSYDE H2O...so it should be F2 key on boot.

had a look in:-help+support on my laptop(win,7 feature,as you know didn't really help there except i learnt loads lol)when i received laptop it was running vista,factory installed,it had a built in toshiba man,(pdf,file).i then created a restore disk(2) of system.i then upgraded to win,7 pro, so all i have is a..little users manual that was in box with laptop not really helpful as it keeps referring to icon on old vista screen(pdf)crazy thing is i still got restore disks with pdf,manual on....!, will try your suggest,your right about insydeh20..f2-goes to win,7 set-up.f10 beeps,f12 boot-advanced screen.

You could extract then those .pdf files from your restore CD?

Well, i do find a little strange, that you can't access to Bios setting on your own...

Or do Toshiba want your £13!!

Maybe you could have a look at your System Property Settings and see if boxes are checked to let the Bootloader appear 10 to 30 seconds, the INSYDE H2O page, with the bios option Keys F2 or F10 writed on screen?

Anyway Support always tells you to restore enterly your system. It is for them an easy way to deal with customers and get rid of customers owns customization. So i guess, they can tell after it was not their fault! They do fear customers in someways! Not blaming them..it is just the fact! But for the moment you're in trouble.

Have a look in search keyword on this sevenforum to reset all bios setting.
