would care to answer this i got avg anti virus....and a smartbro connection.....when ever i connect my connection...it doesnt start but if my anti virus is off i got connection it is safe to have no active anti virus???????

Have you tried other AV rather than AVG? If your problem still persist, try this:

malwarebytes is not an av program.
Id suggest MSE or avast.

Excuse me but I was giving him a suggestion to scan with Malwarebytes just in case something is hooked to his connection that shares it. Something might be hooked since he doesn't use a firewall. I think? Its not the virus issues here.
Why? Turning Off AVG he can connect.
Its the AVG resident shield maybe the issues here.

Well, if the AVG resident shield is the problem. A change in AV might solve the problem.

Im smartbro users a long time ago..
I forgot if smartbro use a software to dial to have internet connection?
I hope it does cause im thinking its the resident shield causing problem to this.
I have instruction how to exclude. Its in 2nd post...
I hope he try it.
If changing AV? i would suggest for Avast Free.
