    Hey there, try this suggestions:
go to security zone and click on "application activity" then go look under the category "block" and change the application setting from there

take KIS out of automatic mode: settings --> protection --> uncheck "select action automatically"

    1. I want to see a single list of all installed apps
    2. I want to block all from accessing the internet as default
    3. I want each app to prompt when it needs to access the internet

Settings -> Firewall and launch "Configure rules..." and change all Trusted from green, allow, to yellow, promt for action, by right-clicking all the entries. This should make EVERY program ask for connection.

perform an action only once. To do so, select Allow or Deny.
~apply an action to the session of the application whose network activity has been detected. To do so, select Allow or Deny, and check the Apply to current application session box.
~apply the action selected for the application to all sessions. To do so, select Allow or Deny, and check the Apply always.
~create a rule to regulate the application's network activity. To do so, select Create a rule.

    1. I want to see a single list of all installed apps
You can do that by going into K >> Main Dashboard >> Application Activity >> Category [Running, or All]
And their network rules by going into K >> Settings >> Firewall >> Settings>> [Filtering Rules Category]

    2. I want to block all from accessing the internet as default
Not a good idea, since if you block Microsoft items programs will be unable to get to Internet (trusted inheritance is used so malcious software does not abuse a trusted process). You need to change the group classification (but do so very carefully specially for Microsoft items).
    K >> Settings >> Firewall >> Settings >> Configure Rules
Now you can adjust the rules for 4 primary groups by right clicking on the icon.
WARNING: Be careful about doing this as it will impede the normal operation of network activity (such as networking, internet connectivity, wireless). Microsoft applications need to be trusted to perform their tasks fully.

    3. I want each app to prompt when it needs to access the internet
You can do so on per application basis if the previous version doe not suit you.
You can do that by going into K >> Main Dashboard >> Application Activity >> Category [Running]
Double click on your application >> Rules for Application >> Rules Tab >> [Network Rules] tab
Right click on the icons and choose >> Prompt for Action within three respective Address Resources
    cheers
P.S I'm not using KIS so this aren't my suggestions
