For all those interested I'm using McAfee (I know, I know) but the beta edition compatible with Win 7. Dunno if it's already been mentioned in this thread but beta.mcafee.com the professional edition is free there, just need to sign up and help out a bit.
Using a Beta version of any anti-virus software is counter-intuitive.
As for anti-virus products from other companies, even though some don't officially support Windows 7 yet, many install and function just fun if using a Vista version of the product with the appropriate 32 or 64-bit version.
Do some research on each company's forums to see what the community response is. I'd really avoid McAfee, especially a beta from them.
I am already on the company's forums, I'm a beta tester remember? I give helpful feedback. Not too many problems so far couple blue screens I saw mentioned but not on mine. Also I've used McAfee products for the lifetime of all my home/work computers and I have never had an issue, I suggest operator error for the problems seen. Everything is working so far from firewall intensity to complete scans and parental controls (who uses those...). Also the virus definitions are up do date in par with Regular McAfee 09 so there are no worries there.

I just let my pit bull sit next to my computer, that is all the security I need...lol. Oh yeah I got kimbo slice running point body guard as well. Yep, I feel real secure....JK. Avast for me, along with hitman pro, and previx. Harware wise, I have an Untangle server (www.untangle.com).
I use avast.
I tried AVG, but it made a pop-up whenever I connected to wi-fi or used any internet app.
That was annoying.
