In my opinion you should only keep one antispyware's real time detection on per time and with the other one you do manual scan.

I trust no program of any kind that tries to slip other things into my computer without my permission.
I'm also getting very leery of Ccleaner sense it was bought out by Avast.
Software houses claim they have to slip garbage in to cope with the expenses but I don't buy it.
Avast was very good, maybe still good although some people now look for alternatives since the program during and after installation has became misleading and nasty by trying to make home users buy the extra utilities.
And CCleaner was the top choice before Avast bought it but then it got hacked so RIP CCleaner.

Malwarebytes and MSE run quite well together, both active.

Plus 1 Jack and the only one that I can think of that scans the whole computer are the rescue disks like Kaspersky and Bitdefender for looking into places where your average scanner does go but as with everything mate there is no real hard and fast rule to this topic and like you I am just a a bit wary of CC because I have noticed it will scan very quick something that was never a great feature of it and if you use it and then say answer one email you can bet your sweet life it will find cookies that have no relation to the email you have been viewing.
Like you I don't like when good software is bought out by the conglomerate people CC and ADW being two that come to mind.

As someone said this topic really should be put to bed because surely it has been kicked to death over the years I have been on the forum I think members should just ask in a post to be honest.

It might be good for you not for everyone.
Softwares like for example CCleaner are never the same so it was said 6 months ago that it was good but now we need fresh feedback.
By the way, if the thread bothers you, why it has to be locked?

Yep well I don't use CC much more these days to be honest and as I mentioned what it finds varies a great deal. Problem is like everything once the big boys get to play with what is basically great stuff they have a tendency to wreck it or at least make it pretty pathetic.

I missed the post mate but after this many years it has got to become very tedious and if you had been a member for as long as I have you would know how it always used to stir up great debates and discussions that went on until it sort of makes the question irrelevant in a way.

Even on my ASUS W2V [2005] Lappy running Windows 7 32-bit on 2GB RAM and a 128GB SSD, my ESET Internet Security v.11 runs like a Swiss Clockwork. The new release v.11 has an even lighter and smaller footprint.

Best Anti-Virus / Firewall application I've ever subscribed to and paid for!

Go check it out and download your free trial today!

Yep well I think I mentioned I am running this on two Linux systems now and it does indeed load quickly and take up very little space and the reviews of it are comparable to even Kaspersky and Bitdefender and it is not expensive.

Test your anti-malware/anti-virus protection with EICAR
As many of you know(quite a few don't) what EICAR is, this is a open poll to see what programs pick it up and what programs fail the basic tests. I am conducting this poll because A-Squared failed to see this on a scan, but MSE picked it up before it could be downloaded. So after you take...
