What's the Best Anti-virus?

Like I pointed out, a sandbox approach is a lot better than anti-virus software. And should disaster strike you should have a clone on an external HDD to go on. I clone about every two months since I don't add too many programs, data and what not during that time frame. If you add a lot of data then your clone schedule should be sooner.

Each one has tested from before and tests of house antivirus in reality, more than we have read references but when installed these alone speak, in my case the antivirus of my choice is Kaspersky Internet Security, Eset and Windows Essentials Security.

definitely Kaspersky Internet Security was one of the best AV programs out there.

note that Microsoft's own MS Security Essentials AV program will be out of support on Jan. 14, 2020, just like the Win7 OS and there are no plans for MS to "extend" or make any new definition updates for MSE past that date.

Important quote from FAQ about Extended Security Updates for Windows 7-

Will Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) continue to protect my computer after the end of support?

No, your Windows 7 computer is not protected by MSE after January 14, 2020. MSE is unique to Windows 7 and follows the same lifecycle dates for support.

If you are using Microsoft Security Essentials you will need to change your AV before Updates cease in mid Jan 2020. Just changing to any old AV program may not be the right solution, as a lot of AV programs don't install their own Firewall & this is important as Windows 7 won't be updated then obviously the Windows Firewall wont get updated either.

I am a conservative user & I only have MalwareBytes Premium installed. Is it enough or do I need to source an anti-virus program also?
