I just replaced my Avira Antivirus with Microsoft Security Essentials a week ago and I'm quite impressed by its performance and it updates its virus definitions several times a day not like Avira which just updates once or twice a day. MSE is the recommended anti virus for those running Windows 7 OS, IMO..

toolbars.... yikes. I warn them and warn them but to no avail. they use Internet Destroyer 8/9 whatever, load up a few toolbars, and afterwards wonder why the erratic behavior
If I were irresponsible, I would recommend to everyone a lousy protective package, and urge them ALL to use IE.... and load up toolbar du jour.... it would be an annuity stream for me

MSE is the most windows 7 compatible a.v.
I never found\analyze crash\bsod minidump file with mse fault.
Though i found avira and avast.
been using avast for two years+ on 7 ultimate x64 on a workstation, and 6 mos on thikpad, no minidumps, no crashes, no issues. [VISTA ...a different story]
but more germane to the point of any of this, what evidence is there that MSE protects? the absence of a painful incident is not indicative of a good package
A have changed my MSE to Avast 6 free edition, after reading a lot of good comments for it. So I'll see how it will go?
Maybe someone have already tested it ?
