I have Avast Int. Security(pd.ver.) will expire 2.28.13 its had a few problems for the past couple months. When I had the free ver. there were never any problems at all but, it did not have the same features of course as the paid ver.

I'm thinking of going with Bitdefender Int. Security 2013. Anyone have experience with this ?
Think this is a better choice ?

I can only share what Ive read.

BD seems to rank right up there with the best, and sometimes doing better in reagrds to Detction, False Positive rate, Removal Etc. Very good scores Ive seen.
However, it seems to have a reputation for become unstable. Which seems would counter any good it does do.

Again, just a "in a nutshell" statement of what Ive read as I have no hands on experience with BitDefender, so take it with a grain of salt.
But worst case scenario, some things to check into before you buy.

Hopefully some others will have hands on experience that can confirm or deny.

Well if you are looking for a good freebie Comodo ISS is now so much easier to config and the GUI real pleasant. I install it for folks short of cash (my workmates usually) and to date no problems. If I didn't have KISS I would run it myself. Best firewall there is in my view:)

Thank's for the reply and the suggestion/ link.
Was not looking for a free program but it looks good. Right now Major Geeks has Bitdefender Int.Sec.2013 for $14.95 instead of $49.95 on BD site. The other versions or discounted also.

Nice ref mate and I see the KIS has gained a lot of ground which is very reassuring for me as I have used it solely for the last 3-4 years - great stuff.

I find this a really handy site too www.matousec.com: Security software testing, analyses, research and reviews.

Well Guys I put in Bitdefender Int.Sec.2013 Trial. It took a while to install as the a fore mentioned crape ware was rampant It made the machine really slow, also a couple other things I did not like about it, so out it came !
During the inst. SAS popped up with: Trojan Agent/Gen-Bifrose.Process

Then I tried COMODO Int.Sec. Smaller download, had to watch the little Devilswere not checked off, the initial quick scan was 5min.
Made adjustments, then turned on full sys. scan Horribly too looong.
There were a lot of pop-ups for a lot of things and the alarms were too loud.

REVO Pro got a good workout !

Also took out Java, there is still more of it to find.

So, for now Avast Int.Sec. is back in.

Update: this morning I realized Bitdefender had changed the DNS settings. Reset them to default and all is OK now.
