    Thanks Phone Man.
That sure does not make it look any better. Sorry, I did not read this part either. Thanks Pnone Man for making us read - LOL.

I know it's been out for years i i've heard of it never really tried it before, 200+ MB? hmm something i'd have to download when i go to sleep (dialup) .. being ranked number 1 and whatnot why is it every forum i goto theres rarely any mentioning of G DATA?

It's always Avast this Norton that, etc...

    Why's that?

Edit: Meaning, do people not like this AV? :S
It uses 2 AV engines, so it is believed to be a resource hog...
That's why there are not many people using or recommending it compared to some other products...
As you have already noticed yourself, even it's installation file is 200+ Mb

It's a great product and I'm very tempted to switch. Eset has served me well tho so I'm still undecided. I might try it on my laptop maybe. It is consistantly in the top 5 of most reputable anti-review lists. As WHS pointed out, at AV Comparitives it is always on top.

btw...WHS, in that graph it is not MSE but Microsoft One Care. MSE test results have not yet been published
I think you are right. It is not MSE. Let's hope it will do a little better since many of us jumped on the bandwagon. Although I already caught a trojan and a browser highjacker since I use MSE. Makes you wonder.
Looks like it is MSE for the Feb 2010 tests at

    Snip from PDF file.

Looks like I'm doing OK as I use avast free and MSE for testing at this point... :)

You run both avast! and MSE? Not a good idea as that will generally lead to many false positives (among other problems). How's your cpu and memory usage? Can you post a shot of task manager showing both these running?

Where is MSE. I don't see the MsMpEng.exe in your snip. Maybe you should show "Processes from all users".

Yes...please. Also, you aren't getting any problems running these together? You have them both set as on-access scanners right?

OK..just so I'm clear...you are not running them both as on-access scanners right?
