    I also tried MalwareBytes and it says it is clean.

    hi folks i m a new member of d socity. i tried the test my Avast 5.0 did not pick it up automatically even i opened it, but when i scaned it avast atlast picked it up.

    Avast 5.0 also didn't pick it up for me but did on manual scan and on the downloaded file.

    Just tested this file w/

    Avast 5 Free: No detection w/ Real-Time Protection, Does detect on Manual Scan
    MSE: Detects w/in seconds, locks file
    Malwarebytes: No detection unless scanned.

    Avira wouldn't let me save the .txt file any place! In fact, notepad quit working LOL

    No, and it is not going to be added to the database.

    Our research team spends a lot of time adding real malware to the database. Adding fake malware and test files like EICAR to the database takes time away from malware research, and proves nothing in the long run.

    But while MBAM mised it, would you believe it found this(yes I deleted it)...
