Whats the most recommended Anti Malware??

I'm currently using AVG for my Anti virus, and Lavasoft Ad aware for my anti spyware. After updating AAW keeps crashing in mid scan so i thought i'd try out Spybot Search & Destroy.

You guys have any better ideas? (I occasionally enable Windows Defender, just to do a full scan, then disable it again)

How does Spybot S&D work out?

As for an A/V - that is purely a contentious matter of subjective opinion.

Have a read through here - it lists some of the favorite A/V apps:

saw that it was most popular on CNET, will try it our

As for A/V, i'm fine with AVG. just mentioning it since it has its own built in anti spyware, too.

"Malware" is just a term used to describe pretty much all malicous code, be it viruses, trojans, backdoors, rootkits, adware, spyware, etc. A few AV programs already have anti spyware modules built in, Avast being one of them.
If you're looking for a good free manual anti-spyware scanner to complement your AV program, like others have said, MBAM is good. SuperAntiSpyware is also, IMO.

Hitman Pro and Malwarebytes are good.

By design Hitman Pro only takes a few minutes to complete a scan. It is free to scan and has a 30 day removal trial in the chance that it does find something.
