    A good way to protect yourself from these issues is to shrink your hard drive, install Linux and dual boot. Then install an antivirus like Bitdefender and you can scan and fix your windows drive from your Linux drive. Or you can download a bootable virus scanner like Dr. Web. If you can find it with your file manager you could just delete it as well.
