Good job, everything appears to be clean. :)

    Remove ComboFix
Go to Start---> Run Command ---> In the space provided, type ComboFix /u and press the Enter Key.

    • Click START then RUN
    • Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK. Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.

    • When/if shown the disclaimer, Select "2"
The above procedure will Delete the following:
    • ComboFix and its associated files and folders

You can manually delete OTList it

    Next,
Reset and Re-enable your System Restore

We need to do this to remove infected files that have been backed up by
Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs
from changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You
will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected)

    • Click Start » Run » type: SYSDM.CPL » OK
    • Click the System Restore tab.
    • Check - Turn off System Restore.
    • Click Apply.
    • Uncheck - Turn off System Restore.
    • Click OK.
You have now flushed your previous System Restore points, so we will make a
new one again since your computer is already clean.

    • Go to Start » All Programs » Accessories » System Tools, and
      select System Restore
    • In the System Restore prompt, select: Create a restore point
    • Click Next
    • Give a description to the new Restore Point. (Something like:
      Clean PC)
    • Click Create
    • Then close the window

Please let me know how everything is running now.

BTW, I don't suppose I have to tell you about the dangers of downloading cracks and keygens do I?

things are running smoothly now, i have been looking over the logs and while i really dont understand them i did see that vundo was a big problem. what else was i infected with and other problems did you see?

just so you know ive uninstalled limewire and wont be using it again, i have had several people tell me that viruses and such are easily spread through the network.

and no you dont need to verbalize the dangers of cracks and keygens i believe your exact words were "Akkk! Keygens, cracks and trojans ..... oh my!" I have deleted all programs that i have aquired that require them.

I know your very busy and i do appreciate the time you have spent with me, and do not wish it to be in vane. Usually when i get an infection i just start over and reformat the drive.

Is there another forum you might be able to recomend to me that deals with my os, as i know this forum is dedicated to windows7, and if/(when) i have problems in the future.

Or can i just stay here!??

Either way i thank you very much for your patience, (thats very hard to find).

Fair play to you Jacee, for helping out that bloke, and spending so much time, and effort on his case,it was very interesting to watch and see how you fixed it,I know he was not a member of this forum, so he could not give you any Rep, so on his behalf I am giving you some, because I'm sure he would have liked to have given you some.

    Yes, Thank You Jacee!

My friend "jblade" is quite impressed with you & our little home here, and is going to try and install W7 on his current machine. As we know, W7 is much better with resource useage, and where Vista fails to install, W7 just may do the trick. Hopefully he'll be able to upgrade his OS to the newest and Best available and join our community on a full-time basis.

Good luck jblade and we'll be here to help if you have any problems with W7 install.
