Windows Security Center

Hi,

I was using Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE), then tried Panda Cloud as an Anti Virus.

I am having a problem with the Action Center, Windows Security Center, recognizing my AV program. It also no longer recognizes Windows Defender when using Panda. Here is the error that I get:

"The Windows Security Center Service was unable to establish event queries with WMI to monitor third party AntiVirus, AntiSpyware and Firewall."

"Error 3"

I would appreciate any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I reinstalled MSE after troubleshooting with a different AV & Spyware. MSE turned defender off (since it is already incorporated) and reset it to manual in Services. I still get the same error in Events. Somehow, there is a disconnect with the Action Center recognizing that I have an antivirus installed. I'll continue to troubleshoot. I'm sure I hosed myself somehow.

I never could figure out what was going on. It was just easier to reload a mirror image and everything is back to normal. I'm sure I stepped on something.

hmmm I'm having the same issue, but i've always been using MSE :/

pc is custom made and running Win7 64bit. Only have MSE and the windows firewall for protection. Run Malwarebytes antimalware from time to time. It's rather strange that I'm getting this error.
Scanned for viruses/malware in safe mode, but it looks clear .

Yes indeed essenbe, that's always the easiest of options, but i was just wondering whether there's anything suspicious about this behaviour

"Session "Microsoft Security Essentials OOBE" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D"

however, I can see the icon in the taskbar and when right-clicking it opens fine and i can do updates and scans ...

it's just weird.

Trouble is that my antivirus IS Microsoft Security Essentials and firewall is the standard Windows 7 firewall :/ which makes me a bit wary about that notification. Shouldn't a Microsoft product (Windows) be able to see its own antivirus/antimalware solution (MS Security essentials?!)
but then again... who knows! xD

I turned off the messages as well :O
