This is based completely on two sources:
The attached chart.
Niemiro's hours of complaints about how few viruses were detected when he switched from McAfee to Kaspersky last year.
This is completely unscientific but since he switched to Kaspersky I think he's had at least one possibly two major attacks, whereas when he had McAfee he had no major attacks.

It's what works for you. if you like it and it is causing you no problems with your system, use it. Opinions on the "best" program are subjective and a matter of individual opinion. There are many threads here on the "best" anti-virus, the "best anti-malware", and the "best" firewall programs. What is best is mostly personal opinion.

Point taken, we shall have to agree to disagree.
What I think we can all agree is that it doesn't particularly matter which antivirus program you have as long as you've got one installed. They're all pretty good; none of them are perfect and some are more suited for some tasks than others but for a few megabytes of code they do remarkably well.
